Pizza, pasta, sun, beautiful women – domain registrations under the Italian top-level domain .it are recommended just because of Italy’s positive associations. As an abbreviation of information technology .it might be used for domain registrations of European IT companies.

Domain names may be registered by all persons and companies in the EU; for interested people outside the EU the EPAG trustee service is available.
EPAG is an accredited .it registrar and has direct access to the .it registry system. We are already using the new realtime registration interface for .it. Therefore, most transactions do no longer require fax forms when done through EPAG.

Special features
- For every .it domain order, the registrant needs to accept the terms and conditions (http://www.epag.de/downloads/en_IT_Terms_and_Conditions.pdf) of the Italian registry.
- Organisations from Italy need to submit their tax number; for organisations from the rest of the EU, the VAT-ID is required.
- Individuals need to indicate their personal tax number.
- Apart from the registration of domains directly under .it registrations under geographic domains (e. g. .bz.it) are available upon request.
- Transfers for .it domains which are already managed through an .it Registrar (REG) do only require an authcode.
- Transfers for .it domains which are managed through a .it Maintainer (MNT) do still need fax forms with some additional data. Moreover, the registrant handle of the domain at the .it registry needs to hold complete and correct information, as otherwise a transfer will not be possible. After receipt of all necessary information we will provide a pre-filled fax form for the transfer.
